Bankie primed for St Kitts Music Festival
Friday, April 28, 2006
BASSETERRE, St Kitts: A local artiste performing at the 10th anniversary of the St Kitts Music Festival promises to take his act to the next level to reflect the momentous achievement of the summer event.
Reggae star Crucial Bankie has appeared on the festival stage twice before. He described his upcoming performance as “fresh” and noted that it will be better than his previous appearances in the 1990s.
“We usually have … dancers and little skits,” he revealed. “We are trying to put a nice show together.”
Bankie explained that his latest album “Shakedown” has been doing very well and expects fan participation to be high as he belts out hits from this and previous albums on Friday, June 30. He encouraged music lovers to support the festival, which runs from June 29 to July 2.
“The fans won’t be disappointed, they should come out in their numbers and support the whole festival,” he stressed. “It’s not just about Crucial Bankie and the Friday night. It is about Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. People come out and get a bellyfull of music.”
The 10th annual St Kitts Music Festival will debut in its new home at the Events Complex at Warner Park. Tickets costs EC$100 or US$40 nightly. Season tickets can be bought at EC$360 or US$145.
