Trinidad suffered a huge and costly defeat

Dear Sir:

Your correspondent from Trinidad, Stephen Cummings, was quick to report on Wednesday April 12, "A long-running maritime law battle between Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago has ended with a victory for Trinidad".

The dust has settled now and we all know different! There are calls within Trinidad for the resignation of Attorney General John Jeremie for having misled the country.

Trinidad suffered a huge and costly defeat which will have great ramifications for the country.

Steven Kangal, a former Trinidad diplomat and maritime expert, has written quite an analysis of the tribunal's report at TrinidadandTobagonews.com and from the standpoint of Trinidad it is not pretty reading.
