MIAMI, USA: Jamaican international Sean Fraser was on target for his new club, Miami FC, during their 8-1 hammering of a Hispanic Coalition All-Stars in their first pre-season game at East Naples Community Park last Sunday.
Miami FC, who kick-off their regular season against Montreal Impact at the Tropical Park Stadium on April 23, had a goal-feast day with five of their eight goals going into the first half.
With his side already 7-1 up, Fraser hit the net in the 86th minute, just one minute after Luc Harrington had scored Miami's seventh. Cuban international forward, Yaikel Perez had a field day, as his efforts earned him a highly coveted hat trick
The striker scored in the 30th, 43rd and 60th minutes, while Luc Harrington (3rd and 85th), Tre Lee (38th) and an own goal in the 43rd finished off the All-Stars side.
Due to poor field conditions, Miami's Brazilian coach Chiquinho de Assis decided to rest Brazilian internationals Romario and Zinho as well as Guatemalan international Mario Rodriguez for the match.
Meanwhile, Caribbean Net News understands that prolific Jamaican striker Onandi Lowe, who will likely play upfront with Romario during the regular season, went back to his home in Kingston for family reasons and was not present for the game.
Miami FC will be holding its inaugural game this Sunday, April 16 at the Tropical Park Stadium against Caribbean Champions, Portmore United. Lowe is also doubtful for that game.
