PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (AFP): Trinidad and Tobago's 'Soca Warriors' named a 24-man squad for the FIFA World Cup here Wednesday, with coach Leo Beenhakker planning to cut one player after a May 10 home friendly with Peru.

Five locally based players joined the core squad that played during the final stages of the North American World Cup qualifying series.
Captain Dwight Yorke of Australian club champion Sydney, will continue to head the team with friend Russell Latapy of Falkirk by his side.
Stern John of Coventry City, Shaka Hislop of West Ham United and golden boy Dennis Lawrence of Wrexham will continue with the squad as well.
"I am aware that it is times like these that everyone feels they are a coach and have their own opinion on who should be in the squad, but I can assure you before we selected this group of players we did our homework", said Beenhakker.
Hector Sam of Port Vale, Anthony Warner of Fulham and Scott Sealy of Kansas Wizards are three of the six reserves announced. They might be on the bubble when the May 15 deadline arrives to submit a 23-man roster to FIFA.
