Turks & Caicos Chief Minister receives Trumpet Award

ATLANTA, USA: The sound of the trumpet rang loud and clear at 13th Annual Trumpet Awards held on April 25, 2005 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Scores of influential African Americans and other guests celebrated the achievements of African Americans. 

Among the honourees in the Special Awards category was Dr Michael Misick, Chief Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands. In his comments, Dr. Misick expressed thanks to his family, supporters and the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands, as he remarked to the audience “through honouring me, you have honoured them (the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands)”. 

Other guests at the event included Rev. Jessie Jackson, Ambassador Andrew Young (former mayor of Atlanta), Presidents, Vice Presidents, CEOs and Attorneys of many successful companies, gospel-recording artists, and internationally recognized actors/actresses.
