KINGSTON, Jamaica: The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has suffered a set back after treasurer Carlton Barclay resigned from his post with the local governing body.

Barclay handed in his resignation at Tuesday's JFF management meeting, citing mounting professional commitments, both locally and internationally. Barclay was a key member of the Crenston Boxhill-led slate at the JFF Congress in November 2003. His resignation takes effect on March 31.

In a press release on Wednesday, the JFF thanked Barclay for his contribution to the organisation.

"The federation publicly conveys its profound appreciation for the expertise he brought to the post for the past 15 months. He has expressed an interest to volunteer his services to the federation whenever he is available, in other capacities."

The JFF will announce a suitable replacement for the post shortly
