Saturday, September 27, 2003

HAVANA, Cuba: Brazil's President Luiz Inacio da Silva will wrap up his second day of talks with Cuba's President Fidel Castro, in Havana this morning before departing for his South American homeland.

The Brazilian President touched down on Cuban soil yesterday and was greeted with a hug by President Castro, according to AP. The pair then reportedly boarded a black Mercedes Benz sedan for a trip to the Brazilian ambassador's residence.

In the afternoon, President Castro presided over a formal greeting ceremony for Mr. Silva before the pair retired for official talks inside the Palace of the Revolution. They are slated to discuss regional trade, loans and political integration.
