Prev    Next BVI to host Kite Jam Published on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 Email To Friend    Print Version TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands -- The inaugural BVI Kite Jam taking place March 1-5, 2010, will be a unique kite boarding experience and internationally renowned affair presented by the BVI Tourist Board and will include Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island. AFP PHOTO BVI Kite Jam will be a five-day event aimed at building awareness of the destination to the international kite boarding community and will highlight BVI as a Mecca for this growing sport. BVI, an archipelago of some 60 idyllic islands, islets and cays in the North Eastern Caribbean, provides the perfect weather conditions and winds necessary for kite boarding. The event will bring together amateurs and professionals alike such as Susi Mai, with visual competitions, demonstrations, and technique clinics, taking place in key locations including Necker Island, the North Sound, Virgin Gorda and Anegada. "BVI Kite Jam will be a unique annual sporting and lifestyle event showcasing BVI's beauty, charm and sophistication.
