Belize hosting regional conference on financial management information systems

BELMOPAN, Belize -- Belize is hosting a three-day Regional Financial Management Information System Conference ending on September 17 , 2009.
This year Belize is hosting the annual conference with the participation of officials from the Treasury Departments of 17 countries within this region. The objective will be for member states to discuss points of mutual concern with Government Accounting Systems such as SmartStream and Freebalance and also to develop the Public Financial Management System (PFM) within the region.
This year’s conference is organized jointly by the Caribbean Technical Assistance Committee (CARTAC) and the Accountant General of Belize, Dorothy Bradley and Felix Enriquez of Treasury Belize who is also the current Chairman of the Caribbean SmartStream User Group (CABSUG).
