Aviation Consultant with the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA), Neville Boxhill, confirms that WestJet will recommence its service to Barbados in November as scheduled.
“We are pleased that not only is WestJet returning to the Barbados route this winter as scheduled but the airline will be increasing its service from 4 flights per week to five flights per week with the addition of a Tuesday service to those operated last year on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays.
Barbados experienced significant growth out of Canada last year as a result of the introduction of the WestJet services and it is expected that with WestJet’s expanded schedule and low cost pricing structure that the carrier will be able to significantly stimulate the Canadian market to produce additional growth in what has been a difficult year from a tourism standpoint.”
The service will arrive at 3:57 pm and departs at 5:00 pm using its B737-700 with 136 seats. Discussions are also ongoing to ensure that this service becomes a year-round opportunity for potential visitors from Canada to Barbados. | | | | Reads : 877 | | | |
