Trinidadian cop fights for job in Bermuda

HAMILTON, Bermuda: A Trinidadian dismissed from the Bermuda Police Service has been granted a reprieve until a full hearing takes place. 
The Bermuda Sun reports that Richard Williams was among the foreign recruits brought into fill staffing shortages within the service earlier this year. His contract fell into dispute after the Bermuda Police Service questioned whether he had made the necessary arrangements with the Trinidad Police Service to work in Bermuda.

Canadian beef imports to be resumed by some Caribbean countries

EDMONTON, Canada: According to the Saskatoon Western Producer, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua & Barbuda and Jamaica have announced that they will resume trade in Canadian boneless beef within the next 30 months.
The number of countries that still have banned Canadian beef and cattle because of the discovery of bovine spongiform encephalopathy in May has dropped from 34 to 25, said Ted Haney, president of the Canadian Beef Export Federation.
