Hurricane Isabel moving closer to the Bahamas and U.S.

MIAMI, Florida: Hurricane Isabel continued moving northwestward late last night, with its center now estimated to be 480 miles from Nassau, in the Bahamas but forecasters remain optimistic that the Category 4 storm could weaken slightly today.

Foreign nationals may pay for permits in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica: Foreign nationals seeking work permits in Jamaica may soon have to shell out the big bucks. The Jamaica Gleaner reported today that the Minister of Labour is looking at charging whopping fees for the issuing of work permits, which are currently free.

Air Jamaica town hall meetings to focus on travel and tourism

NEW YORK, New York: African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Caribbean-Americans and other multicultural groups are being urged to celebrate and share more of the heritage and culture of the Caribbean region.
