Isabel still dangerous say forecasters
MIAMI, Florida: Isabel is still a dangerous category four hurricane and could threaten the Caribbean islands by the end of the week. That was the word from forecasters last night as they continued to monitor the latest hurricane that is about 875
miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands.

Fatal bus accident in Venezuela
CARACAS, Venezuela: Forty-five people are dead and dozens injured in a bus crash in Venezuela.
The Associated Press reported that two passenger buses crashed in separate highway accidents yesterday leaving 35 adults and five children dead. The accident took place about 125 miles west of Caracas at around 1:45 p.m.

Barbadian swimmer looking to Olympics
CHRIST CHURCH, Barbados: A Barbadian swimmer wants to make it to the Olympics. Chris Gibbs, who won medals in the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean Master Championships and recently swam the English Channel, says he hopes to compete internationally.
Mr. Gibbs began preparing for the channel swim one year ago, covering more than 100 miles (161 kilometers) during each month of training, AP reported.
