Wednesday,  January 11, 2006

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands: Representatives of KAIRI Consultants Limited, a Trinidad based organization are currently in the Turks and Caicos Islands to commence a consultancy project for the provision of a new five-year education plan.

The team of two consultants -- made up of lead consultant Mr. Carol Keller and Dr. Ralph Henry -- bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to this process, with over 60 years of related experience between them.

The consultants met with representatives from the Ministry and Department of Education, the Principal of the Community College and the Advisors to the Minister -- all of whom expressed their full support and set out the strategic framework for the commencement of this process.

The Ministry of Education has advised that, over the course of the next four months, commencing this week, arrangements will be made for the consultants to meet with the various stakeholders or representatives in education, government, business and the community generally and has urged the full support and participation of all concerned, in order to ensure that the end product is reflective of the needs of the society that it is intended to serve and to engender a sense of ownership amongst the general populace.

The education development plan is said to be critical to all national development goals.
