Aircraft emergency in Grand Cayman

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands: The Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority has reported that a Cayman Airways Boeing 732 aircraft with 86 persons on board landed safely at the Owen Roberts Airport Sunday evening, after reporting that a ‘landing gear unsafe’ warning had alerted the crew to a possible problem.

Emergency services were mobilized but the plane landed safely on Runway 8 and the emergency stood down at 5:56pm. 

Flight 106 was outward bound for Miami, and was carrying 15,000 lbs of aviation fuel.
