LETTER TO THE EDITOR
I congratulate Damien Smith for his courage
Tuesday, November 16, 2004
Dear Editor:
As an open minded Grenadian, I congratulate Damien Smith for his courage for
defending the truth and telling Caribbean readers what is going on in Grenada.
Damien is doing a wonderful job by critiquing Leroy Noel and Lloyd Noel,
whenever they write their political biasness against the Government, in this
post Ivan period. Grenada's present problem
is due to the works of natural disaster. It is not a political problem as the
critics would like their readers to believe, although we know that it is the
government duty to deal with Ivan disaster. Those pro NDC writers are blaming
the government for everything that is negative within the society, even though
they know quite clearly that no government whatsoever could have prevented the
Ivan disaster. Presently, Grenada needs its
people to build what was damaged. But sadly, the people of St George parish
are not pulling their weight. They are not cultured as the rest of citizens in
the other parishes, including Cariacou and Petite Martinique. The people of St
George need to copy the maroon culture within the Grenadian society and start
doing some work in their villages to rebuild their homes.
It is time that former PRG leaders such as
Nazim Burke and Ex military member Peter David, who are now opposition Members
of Parliament, to step up the plate and make the people or supporters within
their political ridings rebuild some of the damage homes and stop complaining.
It is a shame to see so-called ex revo-politicans who become democrats playing
dirty politics just to gain political power.
And I think it is time that Lloyd Noel
change his political behaviour of complaining over everything, while he, the
same Lloyd Noel is not doing anything to rebuild Grenada in this post Ivan
period. So I congratulate Damien Smith for his courage and skills in writing
the truth and giving those vampires what they deserve.
Hudson George
