Grenada to receive support from Italy

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada: The government of Italy has promised to assist Grenada to improve its public service operations.

Support for the Government of Grenada's Information Communication Technology (ICT) thrust and small business development were among the issues discussed during a meeting with Prime Minister Keith Mitchell and Ambassador Gerardo Carante of Italy.

The Prime Minister said assistance in the area of ICT will not only help to improve the operations of the Public Service, it will also provide job opportunities for young Grenadians.

Other areas discussed during the meeting included the increase in violence globally and the resulting pressures on countries to invest more in security measures, as well as the effectiveness of the United Nations.
