Anguilla Tourist Board opens new offices in Canada and Puerto Rico

THE VALLEY, Anguilla: The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) has announced the opening of two new offices in Canada and Puerto Rico. According to a release from the ATB, this is as part of its ongoing initiatives to improve the performance of the island's tourism Industry.

Ms Sari Ruda of Xybermedia Incorporated has been retained to represent the island in Canada with effect from March 1st. Xybermedia was formed in 1996 and provides cutting edge communications and marketing solutions to clients in diverse sectors of business enterprises.

It is a full service marketing company with strengths in brand positioning, consumer sales and promotions.

A second office has also been opened in Puerto Rico, where Mr Guillermo Pino, who has been familiarizing himself with Anguilla's product for more than a year, has indicated his intentions to work closely with strategic partners in the airlines, travel trade and corporate field to heighten awareness of the destination and its diverse accommodation product, as a means of realizing its potential both as a summer and short break market.

Meanwhile, the Anguilla Tourist Board USA is pleased to announce its new location in White Plains, New York. ATB USA has also formalized an agreement with Ms Patty Cahill of the Portfolio Marketing Group, who will be handling the Public Relations account for the island.

Meanwhile Chairman of the ATB, Mr John Benjamin has stated that the Board had decided to pursue expansion of its activities as a key to tourism development and growth, pointing out that if changing times required new and innovative methods, then the pursuit of new markets must also be an avenue which must be explored. 

The opening of the two new offices brings to six, the total number of offices that the ATB now has in its major markets.
