Wednesday, March 10, 2004
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad: The government of Trinidad and Tobago recently appointed a Steering Committee to conduct a strategic review of tertiary education; training; distance and lifelong learning.
The Steering Committee was mandated to achieve consistency in the local tertiary education system with backward linkages to the primary and secondary education sectors. The objective is to develop a seamless system of education in Trinidad and Tobago.

This was seen as one of the necessary ingredients to achieve developed country status by the year 2020 (Vision 2020).
