Air Jamaica announces new Houston schedule

MIAMI, USA: Putting some fizz in travel to the Caribbean from Texas, beginning immediately, Air Jamaica is offering a new morning champagne service from Houston to Montego Bay, Jamaica with connections inside Jamaica and onwards to the wider Caribbean.

The flights from Bush Intercontinental Airport will now operate four times a week, on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, departing Houston at 7:35 a.m., arriving Montego Bay at 11:45 a.m. The return service will operate Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, leaving Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport at 5:45 p.m., arriving Houston at 8:05 p.m. Previously, the service departed from Houston in the afternoon and left Montego Bay during the mid-morning.

"Visitors from Houston can now fully participate in our 'first on the beach, last off the beach' programme," says Air Jamaica's senior vice president of sales and marketing, Michael Going, in announcing the new schedule. He added that the change in days and times will improve the 'utilization hours' of Air Jamaica's new Airbus fleet while meeting the demands of the increased traffic projected for the Spring Break and Easter holiday seasons.

From the Montego Bay hub, the Houston flight will offer connections within Jamaica, to Kingston and Ocho Rios, and to many of Air Jamaica's Caribbean destinations, opening up the vibrant Texas travel market to the region. "In keeping with our commitment to the Caribbean, we are pleased to offer our passengers a variety of Caribbean experiences, ranging from the beauty of Barbados in the East to the charm of Curacao in the South.
