Montpelier Plantation Inn, a luxury boutique hotel and historic sugar plantation, invites guests to live richly and enjoy the slow island pace. Distinguished by the warm hospitality and personal service of an elegant country house, the focus on detail makes Montpelier a haven for discerning travelers. The new décor throughout is classical "island elegance."

Nestled in the hills on the Caribbean island of Nevis, and set amongst 30 acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel offers guests the option to enjoy either the cool hillside retreat or listen to the sound of the waves lapping at Montpelier by the Sea, their nearby private two-acre beach (complimentary transportation provided).

Owned and managed by The Hoffman Family, Montpelier has seventeen guestrooms including one suite, each with private verandahs offering spectacular views of the sea and surrounding countryside. In the evening gourmet dining is available at a choice of two restaurants: The Terrace, overlooking the night-lights and nearby St. Kitts and The Mill, a small and intimate restaurant located in the plantation's original 18thcentury sugar mill. Whilst featuring different menus, both restaurants draw upon the Inn's extensive win cellar to compliment the dining.

The focal point during the day, of the Inn's activities, is the 60-foot mosaic tiled pool. The gently blowing breezes enable guests to comfortably relax under the sun umbrellas, reading a book and enjoying their complimentary afternoon tea. Elsewhere on the property there is a tennis court with complimentary balls and racquets for use, or guests may enjoy a stroll through the flora gardens, where they can inspect the kitchen garden and sugarcane field, or the bliss of a hammock all to themselves. If being in touch with life beyond Montpelier is of interest, complimentary Internet service is provided. For indulging yourself or taking gifts home, The Sugar Shop offers one-of-a-kind locally and internationally made art, jewelry, clothing and home furnishings. A host of other activities on the island include golf, horseback riding, sailing, deep-sea fishing, and walks through the rainforest.

Montpelier is one of a few select properties recommended in Conde Nast Johansens' 2003/4 Guide to North American Hotels, Inns and Resorts. Superior service is ensured by a ratio of two staff per room. Montpelier and its restaurants were also recently named to Conde Nast Traveler's Hot Tables List 2003 and have been cited by Caribbean Travel and Life in their "Best of…" reviews for weddings.

Easily accessible from most major U.S. gateways with connecting air service direct to Nevis, Montpelier Plantation Inn's 2004 room rates inclusive of breakfast and afternoon tea start at $260 per night, per room.
