All-star line up for the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival Celebrity Charity Golf Classic

MIAMI, USA:  Island Events is preparing to stage the Inaugural Trinidad & Tobago Carnival Celebrity Charity Golf Classic in Tobago on February 26-28, 2004 at the Tobago Plantations Beach and Golf Resort.

The All-star list of celebrities that have been confirmed to participate so far include: Bad Boys II Star Gabrielle Union who was voted Hollywood's Best Secret, the incomparably sexy Boris Kodjoe (Soul Food), Nicole Ari Parker (Soul Food), Dorien Wilson "The Parkers," (Professor Oglevee), The Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World Lennox Lewis, MTV VJ Ananda Lewis winner of such prestigious awards as NAACP Image and Prism awards for her devotion to the betterment of society, former NBA All-star Dominique Wilkins of the Atlanta Hawks, former NBA All-star Bernard King of the New York Knicks .

The Tobago government has extended a warm welcome to the guests coming to the island. "I have high expectations for the event. I know that Tobago will be appreciated for all its beauty and we welcome our visitors and friends from abroad. I am excited that our goal of exposing Tobago to the American market will be fulfilled" stated Neil Wilson from the Tobago House of Assembly.

The red carpet treatment is being prepared for this distinguished group of celebrities. The host hotel for Tobago is the Hilton Tobago. They will be responsible for the lavish receptions and cocktail parties for the celebrities and the guests of the golf classic. The Golf Tournament benefits the Cotton Tree Foundation and the Tobago Oasis Foundation. Cotton Tree seeks to better the lives of Trinidad's impoverished youth. With the focus being on health and well being of each child, the Cotton Tree Foundation is one of the oldest and most respected foundations in Trinidad & Tobago. The Tobago Oasis Foundation is a peer support group works with families either infected or affected by HIV / AIDS. The main focus of the organization is care and treatment, prevention education, stigma and discrimination management, peer counseling, employment assistance, advocacy and recreation. It is also a member of the regional body, the Caribbean Regional Network for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS - CRN+.

This Inaugural event will be the summit of fun and excitement and will combine Zen-like relaxation and the tranquility of Tobago. Tobago is truly the jewel of the Caribbean with a unique privacy that is lost with other over-commercialized tourist destinations.
