Cruise ship passenger killed in ambulance crash in Jamaica

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica (AFP): An elderly US cruise ship passenger was killed and his wife and two others were injured on Thursday when the ambulance in which they were travelling from Ocho Rios to Montego Bay to seek medical attention got out of control and crashed, police said Friday.

The dead man has been identified as Harold Fox, 84, Maryland.

His wife Carol was treated in hospital and released.

Police said Fox, a passenger on the cruise ship Atlantica, docked here, fell ill and was being taken with his wife to a hospital near Montego Bay when the accident occurred.
