Grenada tourism investment programme planned

ST GEORGE'S, Grenada: The Grenada Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Tourism Investment Committee for a promotional campaign in New York to help achieve a projected increase of 8 percent in stay-over visitor arrivals and a 20 percent increase in cruise ship passengers by the end of 2004.
In 2003, a total of 142,355 stay over visitors spent more than 457 million dollars, while more than 146,000 cruise-ship passengers spent in excess of 11 million dollars.
The Committee comprises members from the Tourism Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Hotel Investment Committee, the Airlift Committee, the Grenada Board of Tourism, the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation.
