Delta Air Lines to begin new nonstop service between Atlanta and St. Lucia

ATLANTA, USA: Delta Air Lines announced Tuesday it will begin nonstop service between Atlanta and the Caribbean island of St. Lucia on April 4. Delta will offer customers one round-trip, nonstop flight on Sundays and Mondays between its Atlanta hub and St. Lucia using 148-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
"We are pleased to offer our customers in Atlanta and the southeast their first nonstop service to St. Lucia, one of the world's premiere beach and watersport destinations," said Subodh Karnik, senior vice president-Network and Revenue Management.
Located in the eastern Caribbean, St. Lucia is world renowned for its beaches, rainforests and waterfalls, and is a popular honeymoon destination.
Delta is now offering special sale fares from the United States to St. Lucia. From now until Jan. 12, customers can purchase roundtrip travel starting at $610. The special 7-day advance purchase fares are offered for travel from April 4 through May 23, 2004. Some day of travel restrictions and blackout dates apply. With the addition of St. Lucia, Delta now offers service to 11 cities in nine countries in the Caribbean, including Aruba; Grand Cayman, Cayman Island; Hamilton, Bermuda; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas; Providenciales, Turks & Caicos; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Maarten, the Netherland Antilles; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Delta also serves St. Lucia with daily codeshare service provided by Air Jamaica via Montego Bay, and Air Jamaica intends to place their code on Delta's new flight.
