Cuba hopes to host Olympic Games in 2012

HAVANA, Cuba (VNA): Cuba wants to host the 2012 Olympic Games, said Jose Ramon Fernandez, Chairman of Cuba's Olympic Committee in an interview on Tuesday with a Viet Nam News Agency correspondent.

Cuban athletes are working hard to training before taking part in the 2004 Olympic Games that will be held in Athens, Greece. Cuba hopes to place in the top ten countries at the games.

In the 2000 Olympic Games, held in Sydney, Australia, Cuba ranked ninth with 11 golds, 11 silvers and 7 bronzes
