New 110,000-ton Carnival Valor to operate seven-day Caribbean cruises from Miami beginning Dec. 2004

Friday, December 19, 2003

MIAMI, USA: Carnival Cruise Lines will deploy its new 110,000-ton Carnival Valor on year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises from Miami beginning in December 2004. The 2,974-passenger SuperLiner, the third in Carnival's Conquest-class, will be the largest Carnival "Fun Ship" based at the Port of Miami.

Carnival Valor will depart the Port of Miami every Sunday on seven-day cruises, alternating weekly to the eastern and western Caribbean, beginning with a Christmas cruise departing Dec. 19, 2004.

Eastern Caribbean cruises call at Nassau, The Bahamas; St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.; and St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, while western Caribbean cruises visit Belize City, Belize; Isla Roatan, Honduras; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Carnival Valor will offer vacationers an exciting array of dining, activity and entertainment options.

Housed within its 13 passenger decks will be twin two-level main dining rooms, as well as an expansive poolside restaurant with Asian and American specialty areas, New York-style deli, 24-hour pizzeria, extensive salad and dessert bars, and a specialty seafood venue serving ceviche, bouillabaisse and other delicacies. A sushi bar, a patisserie, and a reservations-only steakhouse-style supper club will also be included.

Twenty-two lounges and bars will be featured, including a three-deck-high theater showcasing lavish Vegas-style productions, a wine bar, a sports bar, a two-level dance club, a piano bar and numerous other live music venues. Other features will include a full gambling casino, a comprehensive golf program with professional instruction aboard ship and during golf excursions, an Internet café and a duty-free shopping mall.

Carnival Valor continues the line's increased emphasis on the family cruise market and will feature an enclosed 4,200-square-foot play area, as well as a variety of fun supervised activities for kids ages 2-15, all part of the line's fleetwide "Camp Carnival" program catering to the estimated 450,000 kids expected to sail next year.

Teens will have their own space, as well, with Action Alley, featuring a dance club, coffee/soda bar, game room and high-tech sound and lighting system. Just-for-teens shore excursions are available, as well.

Carnival Valor will also feature four swimming pools -- one with a 214- foot-long water slide.

Carnival expects to begin accepting reservations for all Carnival Valor departures Friday.
