Lara, Smith hail Indian win over Australia

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AFP): India's victory over Australia in Adelaide was hailed Tuesday by the captains of South Africa and the West Indies.
"It's great for cricket," said South African captain Graeme Smith after his team's 189-run win over the West Indies in the first Test at the Wanderers Stadium.
"It was a fantastic achievement by India to win away from home, especially as they haven't played much Test cricket this year. It's great to see someone beat Australia at home."
West Indies skipper Brian Lara also said India's come-from-behind triumph was "great for the game".
Lara noted that India had downed the number one ranked team in the world and that South Africa were ranked second.
"Maybe our turn will come in Durban," he said of the second Test against South Africa starting on December 26.
