Thursday, December 4, 2003
ST THOMAS, USVI: Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards has announced the addition of new regional airline service to St. Croix and St. Thomas this winter. Caribbean Sun Airlines will begin offering daily round-trip flights from San Juan, PR to St. Croix and St. Thomas on December 15.
"I am very excited about this increase in our airlift," Commissioner Richards said. "These connecting flights from Puerto Rico, in addition to others from major airlines, will provide additional means for visitors to travel with ease to the territory."
Caribbean Sun Airlines will increase travel options to the United States Virgin Islands this winter by offering three round-trip flights to St. Thomas each day and one daily round-trip flight to St. Croix from San Juan, PR. Each flight will be operated aboard a Dash Eight aircraft and take approximately 35 to 40 minutes each way.
Flights are currently scheduled to arrive on St. Thomas at 7:35 a.m., 10:35 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. and on St. Croix at 3:10 p.m. local time (AST). Flights returning to San Juan depart at 8:05 a.m., 11:05 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. from St. Thomas and 3:40 p.m. (AST) from St. Croix. These schedules are, however, subject to change.
Caribbean Sun Airlines and its sister airline, Caribbean Star, offer full-service travel options to 15 Caribbean destinations. Caribbean Sun, which is based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, made its inaugural flight to the region in January 2003 and now offers affordable vacation packages to the Caribbean from the U.S.
