GERMANTOWN, USA: The U.S. National Under-23 soccer team rolled to a 4-0 victory over the overwhelmed Sugar Boyz in last night's Olympic qualifying match at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, to advance 10-0 on aggregate to the final round of qualifying in Mexico in February.
The Americans won the first leg, 6-0, last Saturday in Basseterre, St. Kitts, in what was considered to be the biggest sporting event ever on the island.
According to a Washington Post report, it took the MLS-dominated U.S. squad just three minutes to go ahead in Game 2 as Edson Buddle collected a rebound and crossed to David Testo for an easy finish.
Testo added another goal 17 minutes into the second half on a 22-yard shot into the lower right corner. In the 87th minute, he was credited with an assist on Kyle Martino's nimble run and delicate goal.
Eddie Gaven added a penalty kick during injury time to complete the 10-0 aggregate series victory.
The U.S. outshot St. Kitts and Nevis 29-4 and had eight corners to none for their opponents.
