CHARLESTOWN, Nevis: Nevis Premier, Mr Vance Amory, is leading an eight-person Nevis delegation to the World Travel Market, world's premier tourism and investment exhibition that will be held November 10-13 at the Excel Centre, Docklands in London.

Premier Amory, who leaves the island on Sunday, said, "While I am there I will be teaming up with other persons from the Caribbean to discuss the merits of the tourism industry in the region, and to see how we can possibly do more to attract additional visitors to our shores."

Premier Amory reported that a number of television and other press interviews to specifically promote Nevis as tourism destination have been arranged. "I think this will be good for us in that it will reduce our cost of advertising as the media, TV, radio and the newspapers will undertake to promote Nevis after our interviews, based on the information, which we will provide for them."

Apart from the general promotion of Nevis as an upmarket tourism destination, Premier Amory said that he would also be holding three crucial meetings with potential investors who have been indicating an interest in investing in Nevis in tourism facilities.

"I will use the opportunity to advance these discussions so that we can have a more specific information," noted the Premier. "At the end of November or early December I can assure Nevisians that we will have some of these investors here to engage in the final discussions on the proposals, which they have already put before us."

"I believe that Nevis is potentially the most attractive place right now for tourism development," said Premier Amory. "Notwithstanding the slowdown in the world economy, I think there are persons looking for investment opportunity and we want to offer them those opportunities right here in Nevis."
