ST. JOHN'S, Antigua: Prime Minister Lester Bird expects the 2003-2004 winter season of tourism to be a bright one. He made the prediction during his presentation of the fourth in the series of the Prime Minister's Weekly Radio Address over the weekend.

'We expect that as this winter season starts and government revenues increase from one of the brightest tourist seasons we have ever had, public servants will be paid on time," said Prime Minister Bird, explaining that already, several of the country's major hotels are reporting full bookings and one airline has already increased its flights into the V.C. Bird International Airport (VCBIA).

"Already, our major hotels are fully booked for the winter season, and the increased number of flights into the country will guarantee that the hotels remain full. I remind that this winter, British Airways alone will have 10 flights per week into Antigua," he said.
