Royal Caribbean plans expanded Caribbean itineraries for 2004
Tuesday, October 14, 2003
MIAMI, FL: Royal Caribbean International has announced a new Caribbean cruise lineup for 2004 that gives travelers even more vacation
options.
One of Royal Caribbean's most action-packed ships, Voyager of the Seas, will sail from New York City with an alternating nine-night Western Caribbean itinerary from May through October 2004. Voyager of the Seas charted new waters in active vacations when it first debuted as the world's largest cruise ship in 1999, with the first rock-climbing wall and ice-skating rink at sea, as well as an in-line skating track, and the Royal Promenade -- an interior shopping, dining and entertainment boulevard.
Voyager joins Nordic Empress, which returns to New York City in May 2004 to offer unique six- and eight-night alternating Bermuda cruises, making ports of call at King's Wharf and Hamilton, as well as St. George's on the longer itineraries.
Royal Caribbean also is offering a new departure port from the Northeast in 2004. Grandeur of the Seas will sail out of Baltimore from July through October. Grandeur will offer a seven-night itinerary including visits to Freeport, Grand Bahama; and Royal Caribbean's private island, CocoCay, as well as select 10- and 11-night Caribbean cruises.
A total of 15 Royal Caribbean ships will cruise the Caribbean in winter 2003/2004, departing from seven ports: Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Tampa, New Orleans, Galveston and San Juan. Vacationers can choose from a variety of cruise lengths from three to 11 nights. In addition, 10 of those ships will cruise the Caribbean/Bahamas year-round throughout 2004.
To cap off the year, Royal Caribbean is giving travelers a chance to experience the Caribbean like never before on Nordic Empress' new itineraries to the Southern Caribbean, departing from San Juan beginning late November 2004. The unique, 11-night adventures will make stops in St. Maarten, St. Barts, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Margarita Island, Aruba and Curacao. Nordic Empress also will sail three-night St. Thomas/St. Maarten and St. Kitts/St. Maarten sailings, as well as four special, four-night Dominican Republic cruises with stops in Santo Domingo and Catalina Island on Oct. 15, Nov. 1, 8 and 15.
