United starts daily service to San Juan

Friday, October 10, 2003

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico: United Airlines has announced that it will start daily direct service to San Juan in December.

United currently flies from Washington Dulles to San Juan via St. Thomas at the weekends only. The new daily service will be direct and nonstop from Dulles to San Juan.

United Airlines, operating under bankruptcy protection, is matching moves being made by other US carriers in expanding services to Caribbean destinations. United already offers service to Grand Cayman and Aruba.

Airlines are focusing on profitable routes and Caribbean destinations remain popular with leisure travelers.
