Grenada to deport six with fake Taiwanese passports
Friday, October 10, 2003
ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada: Two men and two women, claiming to be from Taiwan, will be deported later this week, CMC quoted Grenada police as saying yesterday.
The police said that the four had been visiting a number of Caribbean states and that upon arrival in Grenada it was discovered that the visitors were not Taiwanese nationals as they claimed initially or as their passports suggested. The authorities believe that the visitors were from the People's Republic of China.
"The investigation also revealed that the USA visa to Grenada was a false visa," the police report said, noting that the four had also visited St Lucia and Dominica prior to their arrival here.
Grenada has diplomatic relations with Taiwan but not with the People's Republic of China.
