LONDON, England: A 43-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman are being held in north-west London as detectives there continue to investigate the murder of seven-year-old Jamaican national, Toni-Ann Byfield and her father, British newspaper report.
The latest arrests bring to four the number of people currently detained in the murder inquiry. A 23-year-old man was arrested on 15th September and a 28-year-old woman on 22nd September and are on police bail.
Little Toni-Ann was shot in the back after witnessing the gangland murder of her father, Mr. Tony Byfield, 41, at his bedsit in Harrow Road, Kensal Green, north-west London, in the early hours of 14th September, police say. She died a day before she was due to begin primary school.
Toni-Ann was in the care of Birmingham City Council social services when she went to stay with her father, a convicted drug dealer. The council has promised a thorough review of the management of her care.
Mr. Byfield, a Briton raised in Jamaica, served nine years in a British prison for dealing crack cocaine and survived a similar shooting a year ago.
