ST. CATHERINE, Jamaica: The Leewards XI secured their first win in the
Red Stripe Bowl Zone A Match when they faced off with the Windward Islands at Chedwin Park in Jamaica yesterday.
The Leeward Islanders restricted the Windward Islands to 206 for eight off 50 overs, CMC reported and managed to score 207 for five from 45 overs to win the match.
In Antigua, Captain of the West Indies Under-19s, Dinesh Ramdin, hit a match-winning unbeaten half century to lead his team to a seven-wicket victory over the University XI in their Zone B match at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
The Under-19s made 166 for three from 33.4 overs to easily overhaul the University's 165 all out from 42 overs, and record their first win in the tournament.
Today, champions Barbados, who have five points, will face against Guyana in Antigua while Jamaica faces Canada at Port Esquivel in Jamaica.
