Tuesday, October 7, 2003
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands: TCT Ltd. has announced the start of TCExpress high-speed cable internet service on Providenciales Island, available to all WIV Cable customers. The new service utilizes state-of-the-art technology incorporating broadband signals through the fiber-optic cable system laid by WIV Cable TV.
The new affordable TCExpress high-speed internet service marks a precedent-setting break in the previous monopoly of internet service providers on Providanciales. Now the island will have healthy industry competition and a choice, putting the power in their hands. TCExpress high-speed Internet service will cost up to 50% less than that offered by the competition.
"We are extremely pleased to bring TCExpress high-speed Internet service to the Island through the cable TV connection. This is the easiest and fastest way we know how to link the people of the Turks & Caicos Islands with the rest of the world through the web", said Robert Spicer, General Manager of TCT Ltd.
TCT Ltd. was formed in April 2003 to provide best-in-class "high-speed" Internet services to the Turks & Caicos Islands. The company is a partnership between two premiere technology and media providers, WIV Cable TV (locally) and Systems Resource Group (SRG) in the Bahamas. WIV Cable TV provides and facilitates the transportation of Internet service through its state-of-the- art fiber-optic cable network and SRG provides its experience as an Internet service provider.
