Arrest made in murder of Barbados-based contractor

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados: A Guyanese man is being held by Barbadian police in the murder of contractor, Mr. Ronald Ramjit, who was found dead in his Barbados home one week ago.

Mr. Ramjit, who was himself a Guyanese, was found dead in his St. Michael home last week. A post-mortem later revealed the contractor had died from a shot to the head.

The Guyana Stabroek News quoted sources as saying that though police have arrested the as yet unnamed man, no reasons have been disclosed for the murder.

Reports yesterday indicated that the police have apprehended a Guyanese national who is suspected of being behind Mr. Ramjit's murder.

Mr. Ramjit was buried in his native Guyana yesterday.
