Trinidad, Guyana win opening matches in Red Stripe Bowl

KINGSTON, Jamaica: Trinidad and Tobago's Red Stripe squad swept to a thrilling victory in the Zone A of the Red Stripe Bowl, which opened in Jamaica yesterday. The Trinis won by 13 runs over the Leewards XI at the Sir Frank Worrell Oval on the University of West Indies Campus Mona, CMC reported last night.
Meanwhile, in Antigua, the highly-talented West Indies Under 19s went under by 14 runs to Guyana in the opening Zone B match. Batting first, the Guyanese posted 252 for six off 50 overs but the Windies fell short at 238 for eight off their 50 overs.
Zone B competition continues today with defending champions Barbados against the University of the West Indies in Antigua and Canada against the Windward Islands at the Jamalco ground, Jamaica, in game two.
