
Two Trinidad ministers may be sacked

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad: Trinidad & Tobago's Attorney General, Ms. Glenda Morean-Phillip-Phillip, and Health Minister Mr. Colm Imbert, may soon have to trade in their ministerial posts for diplomatic ones.
The Trinidad Express yesterday quoted top sources as saying the two cabinet minister may be sacked by next month and appointed either as Ambassador to the United States or High Commissioner to London, and Ambassador to Cuba, respectively.
Legal Affairs Minister, Ms. Camille Robinson-Regis, is tipped to become the new AG.
Additionally, National Security Minister, Mr. Howard Chin Lee, may be re-assigned as Tourism Minister and a prominent businessman from Central Trinidad is tipped to take the Security post.
Planning and Development Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, and Junior Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Valley, who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry, are also expected to be given new portfolios.
Mr. Valley is tipped to replace Rowley as the Minister of Planning and Development. The Cabinet changes may be implemented before next month's internal PNM executive elections, said the Express.
