CTO announces booking engine for small hotels

Saturday, September 27, 2003

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands: Looking to book your stay at a small hotel in the region? You soon will be able to do so with a new engine launched by the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The Barbados-based Caribbean Tourism Organization's plans to unveil the new feature on its DoitCaribbean.com web site during a three-day tourism conference in St. Thomas starting 16th October, according to an official statement.

The organization said it hopes the booking engine will revive business for the 1,000 small hotels in more than 30 countries in the region by offering consumers better access.

The site will differ from the recently-launched GoCaribbean.com, an Internet site operated by the Caribbean Hotel Association Charitable Trust. That site offers online flight reservations and bookings at 400 major hotel chains.
