
U.S. anti-terrorism conference wraps up

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad: Aiming to expose security practitioners in the Caribbean to the anti-terrorism measures currently applicable in the global environment, officials of the United States Defence Threat Reduction Agency, in conjunction with the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, yesterday concluded a week-long conference in Port-of-Spain.
Entitled "Caribbean Anti-Terrorism," the week-long conference, which was conducted at the Crowne Plaza and the Hasely Crawford Stadium, the conference nations aims at helping regional countries develop competency against anti-terrorism, according to the Trinidad Newsday.
A total of 32 persons from Antigua/Barbuda; Grenada; Dominica; Barbados; St Lucia; Jamaica; Bahamas; Guyana; Suriname and the Dominican Republic as well as T&T, participated in the conference.
Lead facilitator Marion "Drew" Andrews, of the DTRA, told Newsday the U.S. "…will continue to share information with them (Caribbean)."
